More Promotion Software
In addition to our URL submission software, we recommend the following websites and software.
WordTracker helps you discover the keywords that people are actually searching for on the search engines. If you build your site using keywords that aren't popular, or don't generate traffic, your site will starve. WordTracker.
WordTracker compiles a database of terms that people search for. You enter some keywords, and they tell you how often people search for them, and also tell you how many competing sites use those keywords.
WordTracker helps you find all keyword combinations that bear any relation to your business or service - many of which you might never have considered.
You'll find out how popular these keywords really are.
Then for each major search engine, they show you the chances of making the top 10.
Find the balance between the total number of competing web pages for each search engine, and popularity of the search term. Then attack the niches!
On February 6th, 2002, I installed an absolutely ingenious program on another site that I run. It is currently bringing over 100 people to my site each day, and growing. This can work for your site as well.
This traffic-building tool makes it possible to put a shortcut icon on the computer desktop of your site's visitors. In other words, when someone visits your site, they can now request that a shortcut icon be placed on their desktop. The icon is installed automatically, with just a couple of clicks. And this shortcut icon will bring the person back to your site anytime they click the icon. Every time they look at their desktop, they will now see YOUR icon.
How many visitors come to you site, but never return? This tool helps you to keep those visitors and create returning visitors.
You can try this out by visiting the site where I have implemented this tool:
Choose one of the options and give it a try. It won't hurt your computer. It will simply install shortcuts that lead back to my site. Once you've tried it you can simply delete the shortcuts by right-clicking on them and selecting Delete from the pop-up menu.
Imagine if you had this on your site! Currently, I'm getting about 15-20 people per day to install the shortcut, and over 100 people per day are actually using the icons to return to my site. I installed this tool on February 6th, 2002. It's not a huge number yet, but it will grow over time. Also, I have chosen to make the installation a more passive installation. In other words, my site's visitors have to specifically ask for the icon. However, you can install the tool with an option that would automatically prompt first time visitors to your site to install the icon using a one-time-only pop-up window. Many more people would accept the icon if you use this option.
This tool can pay for itself very quickly. It's inexpensive (price varies depending on which options you choose), and it works. You can track its effectiveness and see immediate results. Installation is simple, but if you don't want to mess with the details, you can have it professionally installed.
You can try it free for 30 days and see if it works
for your site.

Love 'em or hate 'em, pop-up windows are here to stay. Why are so many sites using pop-up windows? One simple answer: they work.
I recently wanted to explore the use of pop-up windows, but didn't have the specific java knowledge for making pop-ups work properly. Luckily, I found an easy to understand course and code generator.
The course examines real-life examples of how pop-ups have improved web site performance and gives you the exact code to create pop-ups for your site. The included code generator takes all the guesswork and coding mistakes out of the process.
Within a few minutes of reading this course, I used the code generator and created a pop-up window that would appear on one specific page on one of my sites. And using the code generator, I was able to set the code so that the pop-up window would only appear one time, so I wouldn't alienate visitors to my site. You can easily adjust how often your pop-ups appear, from once to daily to every time the page is loaded. And the pop-ups can appear when the page is loaded or when the page is exited.
After I uploaded my newly modified web page containing the pop-up code, this particular page began helping me capture email addresses for an ezine that I publish. Previously, nearly all visitors to this page left the site without taking any action or browsing further. Now, my pop-up appears when they leave the site, giving me a second-chance to capture their email address. These email addresses are addresses I would have missed completely, had I not implemented the pop-up.
I will be implementing additional pop-ups soon, because they work, and are simple to create using this tool.
